Charging Your Hearing Aids:
Phonak Slim hearing aids are receiver-in-canal (RIC) models, which means the receiver sits directly inside the ear canal. This design makes them susceptible to earwax and debris buildup, making regular cleaning essential for keeping best performance:
Receiver and Domes:
- Take the Dome out of the receiver if it can be detached.
- In a special cleaning cup, soak the dome for 30 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly, allow them to completely dry, and then replace the dome.
- Make use of a soft brush or wax pick to clean the wax guards and sound exit of dirt.
Hearing Aid Body
- To clean the main body, use cleaning wipes designed especially for hearing aids.
- Do not use household cleansers and water that can harden the inside components.
Storage
- Keep your hearing aids in a clean, dry case while not in use.
- Use a drying box or dehumidifier to cut out moisture and extend the life of your equipment.
